Tutorial Tuesday is back! I’m working hard to put up at least one new video a week that can help you crochet the free patterns you find on my site. I am going back to all the free patterns and working up the tutorials so that eventually every pattern on the site will have a free tutorial video!!
I’m excited to be sharing with you today the other invisible join you will need to know when working the free baby booties patterns on this blog. This is the one you will use when working with joining single crochet.
You will use this technique when creating the basic sole and on the patterns that have single (or sometimes double) crochet on the last round. It’s super simple and easy to do and gives your projects a more professional look than the knot left by fastening off.
How to Crochet an Invisible Join
Step One: Cut yarn and pull through center of last st made. (Do NOT fasten off the regular way).
Step Two: Insert hook from right to left in 2nd st to left and pull yarn through.
Step Three: Insert hook from right to left in the middle of the last st made (the one you pulled the yarn through initially) and pull yarn down through the middle of this stitch.
That’s it! This join makes such a nicer edge without a bump, and I use it for granny squares and lots of other projects, too!
I hope you enjoyed this quick video. If you would like to see even more video tutorials, please join more than 13K other crocheters by subscribing to my YouTube channel!
