Crochet Patterns
1. Simple Textured Messy Bun Hat
This hat was made for a friend of my nephew’s and I love the way this textured stitch worked out. It’s worked from the bottom up with the ribbing section worked first, and there is the option to make it with a closed top.
My first messy bun hat!! When a friend asked me if I would make her one, I jumped on the chance to design my own. This hat is made from the bottom up with a wonderfully textured modified bean stitch.
This pattern is THE most popular one on the site and for good reason!! I love the simplicity of the stitch pattern that gives it this amazing texture, and then you add a lacy border and it’s a perfect match!
These baby booties are super simple and work up super fast. You make the soles separately in two colors and then combine them and make the top. They are durable and comfy for baby feet!
5. Sweet Sophisticated Mary Janes
These are the most popular baby booties on the site! These little mary jane style booties are perfect for a baby shower gift. I just need to make them in adult sizes…
My first c2c design!! This blanket works up SO quickly with Bernat Blanket yarn and the nature of c2c gives it the diagonal stripes with a quick color change.
7. Unforgettable One-Skein Scarf
Wow!!! There are well over 100 projects for this scarf on Ravelry and I want to say “thank you!”. This scarf gets its color changes from Red Heart Unforgettable Yarn.
I’m totally loving the ombre!! This pattern is a simple V-stitch made with Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn for sweet color changes, and then a solid color, lacy border.
Knitting Patterns
1. Unforgettable One-Skein Knit Scarf
I kept getting asked if I had a knit version of the Unforgettable Scarf so I had to create one! This is a simple four row repeat that you can easily memorize to knit an openwork scarf of your own.
Slipped stitches give this hat amazing texture! I made this hat for my husband who really only likes to wear them in black, but it’s one of the only things I’ve made for him that he will actually wear! Haha!
So there we are! The 10 most popular patterns on the site this year! I hope you have enjoyed checking out the top crochet and knitting patterns of 2017 – be sure to check out the entire resource library of free patterns, both knit and crochet!
See you in 2018!
Amanda
