If you have discovered how satisfying it is to loom knit then you have probably wondered about all of the different loom knitting stitches out there. Luckily for you, there are plenty of talented designers out there who have put in the work to convert regular knitting stitches into loom knitting stitches. Today we’re featuring 25 of our favorites.
There aren’t nearly as many loom knitting patterns out there as there are regular knitting patterns and it can be hard to find a pattern that speaks to you. But once you have a few loom knitting stitches under your belt, you won’t be as reliant on finding good loom knitting patterns anymore.
Basic projects like blankets, scarves and dishcloths are a snap to make with only a stitch tutorial. And more experienced loom knitters can find success with even more complicated projects like sweaters and hats.
Whether you are looking for loom knitting stitches that are solid or lacey, plain or decorative, one color or multiple colors, we’ve got you covered. There’s a great mix of stitches on this list so you’re sure to find the right one. The only thing we don’t have is super basic stitches like knit and purl. Hopefully you already know those ones!
Most loom knitting stitches don’t require you to have any specific kind of loom or like a specific number of pegs or anything, so that’s good news. Although some of the more complicated stitch patterns do have larger pattern repeats, which means you need more stitches and rows in order for the pattern to emerge. In that case, you are better off using those stitch patterns for larger projects (and with looms large enough to accommodate the number of stitches you need).
Check out our list of loom knitting patterns, too. (Don’t worry, we’ll save this page for you!)
So without further ado let’s dig into all of these wonderful loom knitting stitches! Scroll down to see them for yourself.

Final Thoughts on Loom Knit Stitches
Whew, that sure was a lot of loom knitting stitches! Do you have a favorite loom knitting stitch? The world of loom knitting has really come a long way and there are so many lovely stitch patterns out there.
I love the fact that you can make so many different stitches with a knitting loom. When I taught fashion design at the high school level, I made all my students learn to loom knit to understand how knitted fabric was made. I would give each student a round loom and a loom hook and I would teach them basic cast ons and how to work in garter stitch.
I’m so impressed by all the free patterns out there for loom knitting! If you are a loom knitter, I’d love to hear about your favorite loom knit stitch patterns.
Be sure to check out our loom knitting blanket patterns. I love working a flat panel with my large gauge looms, and even loom knitting beginners can make these projects. There are a variety of sizes of blankets in our collection, from many different pattern designer friends. Hop over and take a look!
