Design Story and Inspiration for this Easy Crochet Flower Pattern
I love crocheted flowers and really enjoy experimenting with all different types of designs. Some people find crochet flowers to be difficult because of the way that the layered petals are made.
These are beautiful, but it can be difficult to work into the chains behind the other petals. It confused me for a long time so I decided to create a very simple flower pattern that doesn’t have any difficult petals, and so this easy crochet flower pattern was born!
Last year I took part in the Happy Flower Project, where you leave crocheted flowers around to bring happiness to others, and this little flower would be perfect for that!

Yarn Options for a Crochet Flower
The beauty of making crochet flowers is that you really can use any yarn in any weight – and it’s great for using up scrap yarn.
I made this flower with Lion Brand Coboo, a DK weight yarn that I really love using at this time of year. I used a size G (4.00mm) hook.
If you use a different size yarn or even crochet thread, just look for the recommended hook size on the ball band and go with that. This is what I did for the Coboo and it worked out very well.

This can be made by a beginner, the only thing that might be difficult is the double crochet cluster, but don’t worry – it’s not that hard. There will be a video very soon walking you through how to make this pattern.
