To be honest, this is something I never thought I would crochet – but I have found it to be a lifesaver!

crochet crayon holders

Our state has opened up restaurants and retail and there are many things that have changed due to social distancing – and one of these is the presence of crayons in restaurants!

Some friends of ours have taken their kids out already and they mentioned that restaurants are no longer giving out crayons with the kids menus, although the kids menus still have areas to color.

My friends didn’t have any crayons with them, so the kids were pretty bummed that they couldn’t color while they waited for their meals (it was a sit down restaurant that takes a little while).

So that gave me the idea for these crayon holders so that when we start taking the kids out we will be ready!! I’m working on one for each kiddo and I decided to do them in different stitch patterns for some variety.
