Crochet these easy Crochet Butterfly Booties with basic stitches and bulky yarn. This free crochet pattern works up in a flash!
I love making baby booties and have several free patterns for them you can find on the blog here.
These were a bit different for me because they use bulky yarn, when I usually use a DK weight. I wanted to make something a little faster than my normal booties and I really wanted to try the Lion Brand Color Made Easy yarn, so I decided these were just the thing!
If you’ve been around the blog for a while you know that I have four boys (and the youngest is 2 1/2 now!), but I still can’t help designing sweet little baby girl things. Right now I don’t have any friends expecting girls, so I’ll just save these sweet booties for the future!
This is a very easy pattern that will work up very quickly. If you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon crochet project, you’ve found it. If you haven’t made booties before, don’t worry – they are not hard at all!
Once you make the sole, you crochet in the back loop to begin working on the body of the shoe – no technical shaping required.
As I mentioned above, I really wanted to try out the Color Made Easy yarn. It has so many wonderful colors to choose from, it’s affordable, and it’s a bulky weight, which means it works up quickly.

Insert hook from right to left in the middle of the last st made (the one you pulled the yarn through initially) and pull yarn down through the middle of this st. Check out this video tutorial for help!
