The Sedge Stitch Blanket is an easy crochet blanket pattern that combines three simple stitches to create beautiful texture and effortless gradient color changes.

Design Story and Inspiration for the Sedge Stitch Blanket
I love the sedge stitch! It’s so fun and only uses single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet to create an interesting texture that is a simple one row repeat.
I decided to use it for my next gradient blanket because it’s easy enough for a beginner but relaxing enough for nights on the couch binge watching. Or, in my case, in the car line at school! Haha!
Just like most of my blanket patterns, it comes in 11 sizes from lovey to king so you can make it in almost any size you need. Just choose one, and get going.
Yarn Options for Our Textured Crochet Blanket Pattern
I absolutely love Lion Brand Mandala Gradient yarn and I’ve chosen it for several different blankets so far. I’m trying to make one in every color they have! This one was crocheted in deep teal and you can check out my others here:

Pattern Notes: Round one border stitch counts are estimates based on this patternโs gauge and the length of the sides of each blanket. As long as a blanket edge has a multiple of 3+2 between each corner ch-2 space, it will work out evenly.
If your border round one stitch count is off and you end with a different number of sts between the last cluster and the ch-2 space, it is okay to sc2tog at the beginning of a cluster to help even out the counts.
Use the numbers for each side of the border as a guide.
