I love a good pair of leg warmers, donโ€™t you? Thereโ€™s just something about them thatโ€™s so comfy, cozy and oh so cute too. But do you know whatโ€™s even better than one pair of leg warmers? How about 25 free crochet leg warmer patterns!

Ok, so how do you crochet leg warmers anyway? The good news is that itโ€™s fairly straightforward! Some patterns have you crochet a flat rectangle and then seam it. Other patterns have you crochet a tube. Most free crochet legwarmer patterns have some ribbing at the tops and bottoms or a drawstring tie to hold everything in place. It really is that simple!

Can beginner crocheters make these free crochet leg warmer patterns? Absolutely! The majority of the free crochet patterns on this list call for just the basic crochet stitches, so theyโ€™re well suited to newbies. As long as you steer clear of any intricate lace work or cable work, then you should be totally fine.

What do you wear leg warmers with? You will see lots of outfit inspiration in the photos for the free crochet leg warmer patterns that we are featuring today. Most of the time you will wear these in the winter season in cold weather. Put them on over or under a pair of boots for an extra layer of cuteness. Layer them over leggings and pair them with pumps or flats. You can even wear them over bare legs, like if youโ€™re wearing a dress or something. Thereโ€™s really no wrong way to go about it!

Does that answer all of your questions? Ok, so what are you waiting for? Scroll down to see all of the fabulous and free crochet leg warmer patterns for yourself!

Ruffle Seam Leg Warmers

The problem with making free crochet leg warmer patterns whether they are worked in rows or rounds is disguising the seam. Or you can do the opposite and choose to emphasize the seam instead, like this pattern, using shell stitches to add a little flair. The rest of the design is crocheted in double crochet stitches through the back loops only.

    Hello Amanda,
Thanks for all your hard work in finding and sharing these leg warmer patterns. It was fun reviewing all the patterns. I have chosen Beginning Leg Warmers (because I have never tried making leg warmers before), Sesame Leg warmers (beautiful colour!), and Side to Side legwarmers (because it was a different way of making them and it intrigued me)
I will have no excuse this fall for cold legs and ankles!! ๐Ÿ™‚
