So yesterday was one of those rare times when the house was quiet and I could actually sit down and finish a video.  I’ve been working really hard trying to get more video tutorials up for my youtube channel and was able to create a video for how I create soles for baby shoes.

This technique is used in the following projects (click on the pictures if you want to be taken to the FREE patterns):

Free Crochet Pattern! So easy! I'm making these again!

One of the main techniques to get professional-looking finished baby booties is how to make an invisible join.  You really don’t want the knot that fastening off leaves when you are going for a smooth finish.

Some tutorials have you use a yarn needle for this technique, but I just use my hook.  You certainly can use a yarn needle if you like and complete the same motion.  I just don’t usually have a yarn needle nearby all the time but since I just crocheted the piece the hook is right there. 🙂

How to Crochet an Invisible Join when Joining Slip Stitches

Step One: Cut yarn and pull through center of last st made.  (Do NOT fasten off the regular way).

Step Two: Insert hook from right to left under both loops of next slip st to the left and pull yarn through.

Step Three: Insert hook from right to left in the center of the last slip st and pull yarn down through center of last slip st.

I hope this helps if you are making a project that needs in invisible join when working slip stitches!  If you are working an invisible join for single crochet be on the lookout for my next tutorial video.  Please subscribe to my Youtube channel!
