Looking for a fun, flattering crochet tank pattern? Check out our easy V-Neck Crochet Tank pattern – made with just double crochet stitches!
Design Story and Inspiration for This Crochet Tank Pattern
I have a couple of tanks that I adore and have worn for the last couple of summers. They are both exactly the same shape with different prints, and I decided to see if I could create an easy crochet version.
My tanks are A-lined, which I find very flattering for my shape, and they have a v-neck that isn’t too low, both features I really love. I decided to create a lightweight version and thought that working it in double crochet would make it work up quickly – and it did!
In fact, I worked on this top almost exclusively during car rides… and while waiting to pick up or drop off my kids in the car line!

Yarn Options for This Summer Tank Pattern
I created this design with a DK weight yarn, Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek DK. I found this yarn at my local Hobby Lobby and instantly fell in love with the color and feel of it. It really is soft and sleek! The heathered teal tone was perfect for my wardrobe, too!
You can use any DK weight yarn that gets gauge to create this pattern. A nice thin cotton or even a low pill acrylic like I used. Any summer fiber would work really well. Just be sure to check gauge before you go to all the trouble of working this up!

Final Thoughts on This Easy Crochet Tank Pattern
I hope you’ve enjoyed this free crochet tank pattern! It was so much fun creating it – and I’ve made something I actually really love to wear, which is a huge win in my book!
Happy Crocheting!

This looks like a really comfortable top and easy to work up, thanks to your clear instructions. We are reaching the end of summer here and the evenings are already quite cool. This could still get a lot of wear; during the heat just the tank top, evenings just toss on a cotton long sleeved shirt. I like it, now the colour choice. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this pattern. You are a really busy person yet you still take time to give us yarnies lots of inspiration and advice. I appreciate your generosity.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I definitely plan on wearing my top with a cardigan or jean jacket when our weather cools down here. I hope you enjoy this pattern and get a lot of wear out of it. 😀
