It’s in the #1 what’s hot on Ravelry spot for llamas right now and it has been made over 500 times! If you know how to crochet the loop stitch, then you’re well on your way.

The Friendly Llama

This little llama certainly lives up to her moniker – just look at that friendly face! I always love when crochet amigurumi patterns are able to stand up on their own, don’t you? The llama crochet pattern uses single crochet stitches in the traditional amigurumi style and alternates between two types of yarn for a contrast in textures.

What could be better than a cute crochet llama? How about two! This pair of pachyderms sure know how to accessorize – just look at their coordinating scarves. But if you want to know my favorite part of the design – it’s the fabulous fluff of fur on top of their heads! What a cute couple of llamas.

Fleece Navidad

Shh, these llamas look like they are sleeping. The design has them looking serene sitting on the ground with their eyes closed. They would look right at home in a baby’s nursery decor or in a Christmas nativity scene. While not as flashy as their colorful cousins, these sweet llamas have a certain charm.

Amigurumi Alpaca

Who says that llamas have to be white or brown? These bright and bold llamas are looking fabulous in orange and purple. I especially love their colorful necklaces complete with tassels. Make them for someone and the imaginative design and exaggerated proportions are sure to win them a place in the recipient’s heart.

Larry & Linda Llama

Have you seen Red Heart Amigurumi yarn before? It’s a single skein of cake yarn that includes all of the colors you need to make a specific design. The llama color makes – you guessed it – two llamas! It’s a thinner yarn that beginners may have trouble with, but it does make the llamas extra dainty and adorable.

Llama Patmos Amigurumi

I’m a little jealous of this llama’s lovely and colorful poncho. The design is a unique mix of realistic and creative that is certainly a winner in my book! You can crochet this cute llama using just single crochet stitches in the traditional amigurumi style. The accessories use all sorts of stitches – including highly textured bobble stitches!

Make household chores a little less dull with this fabulously fun and functional Llama Dusting Mitt. Lovely Lola the Llama

It’s pretty common for free crochet llama patterns to include colorful and decorative blankets thrown over the backs of the llamas. I especially love the little blanket that Lola wears because it is woven with different colors and it includes an adorable fringed edge. This is also one of the most realistic looking designs on the list.

Loopy Llama Blanket

Crochet loop stitches are the perfect way to mimic the fluffy textured appearance of a llama. These stitches really stand out against a flat background of stitches in a contrasting color. The whimsical design would work well as a throw, a play mat, or a rug. Plus, the thick yarn makes the project work up quickly.

Llama Lovey

Loveys combine the best of both worlds – amigurumi and blankets. You probably already know that these little buddys make cute companions for kids. I’ve never seen a llama one before, but I have to admit that it’s adorable! The pattern calls for just single and double crochet stitches, so it’s actually pretty easy.

Ragdoll Llama

Did you know that there’s more than one way to crochet amigurumi? While it’s more common to see designs where everything is worked in the round, the ragdoll style has to crochet two flat panels and then join them together along the sides. The best part is that it’s all single crochet stitches!

Designer: Spin a Yarn Crochet

Bernat Pipsqueak (Super Bulky Weight #6)

Mini Amigurumi Llama

This is a miniature and more manageable version of the similar looking llamas we saw before. These cute and cuddy llamas fit perfectly into a child’s hand. Plus, smaller size stuffed animals are great for taking on trips. Of course, the best part is that they’re also much faster to crochet and they take up much less yarn.

Here’s another one of our free crochet llama patterns in the ragdoll style. Allie the Alpaca Toy

Soft and textured boucle yarn makes this llama amigurumi look like it has real fur! It’s easier to work with than faux fur yarn and the single crochet stitches that the pattern calls for are quicker than loop stitches. The colorful trio of pom pom necklaces are an especially adorable touch, don’t you think?
