Work up this sweet floral granny square as part of the Unraveled Mitten’s 2021 Stash Busting Sampler Afghan Crochet a Long!
Design Story and Inspiration for the Floral Granny Square
This simple square was created as part of the Unraveled Mitten’s 2021 Stash Busting Sampler Afghan CAL! During the course of the year she is hosting designers to create a square for her sampler afghan. There are already a ton of amazing squares for the project and you can learn more about it here.
I wanted a simple floral design that had a traditional granny background, so I created this easy square. I wanted this to be pretty beginner-friendly, so the flower is super easy and fun!
Yarn Options for this Crochet Square
This square is meant to be 12″ square to match the other squares in the CAL. I used Lion Brand Mako Cotton, but you can complete this project in any worsted weight yarn – it’s meant to be a stash-buster after all!
For this square you need three colors of yarn. If you are planning on making the entire sampler afghan you will need four colors of worsted weight yarn. All squares use a size H (5.00mm) hook.
