This is one of my absolute favorite stitches. I was in love with the moss stitch before I learned how to do it C2C, but now it’s sealed it’s spot as my favorite.
This simple c2c moss stitch baby blanket shows off the beautiful simplicity of this stitch while working up amazingly quickly.
I am a huge fan of baby blankets (as anyone who has been around here a while will attest to!) and I also love ones that are easy and work up quickly. This one fits the bill for both!
The Bernat Blanket Dappled yarn is awesome – the subtle color changes in the same familiar blanket yarn we all know and love. I made this blanket in record time.

See what I mean? Easy peasy! You can add a border to this if you like, but I really liked the way it looked without one so I left it. It’s so soft and squishy – I just love it!

Amanda,
Love this stitch, pattern, and your tutorial! With the Bernat Dappled Baby Blanket yarn, did you start in the middle of the “cake” skein or on the outside? Thanks so much!

Hi Gloria! I started from the middle of the skein. 🙂

Amanda, it’s Gloria again! I can’t tell you how much I LOVE your pattern. I’ve made one for my new great niece using the pink Ever After dappled, another using Posy Purple, and am now making a larger one (using 3 skeins) in Crocus Faerie. Everyone is raving!
However, in this larger one, I am having issues beginning to decrease. I’ve looked at your instructions over and over but can’t seem to make the corners lie flat and the edges look pulled where I am decreasing. Somehow I am messing up Row 2 in the decreasing section.
Can you help? Thanks so much!

Hi Gloria! Sorry I have been on a family vacation and just returned. I’m not sure why this particular blanket would be having problems when the others didn’t because it can be adjusted for any size. It should be the same method for turning the corners and then working the decreases.
Maybe this video for the smaller c2c moss stitch washcloth would help – https://youtu.be/PQrND4L9ms0 Same technique, different size and yarn.
