Design Story and Inspiration for This Baby Sock Knitting Pattern
I just love designing socks. They are so much fun! I especially love turning adult-sized socks into tiny baby sock versions.
I designed the Mermaid Scales Socks in this same gorgeous yarn, and it got its name from the way the yarn colors worked with the stitch pattern. This is the same stitch pattern, just in a tiny form!
These socks were knit by my friend Amanda @amandashandmadecloset and designed by me!
Yarn Options for Baby Socks
This is Malabrigo Ultimate Sock, which I’ve absolutely fallen in love with lately. It’s honestly one of my favorite sock yarns! I’ve honestly never met a skein of Malabrigo that I didn’t absolutely love.
Feel free to substitute any sock yarn that gets gauge – this is a great stash busting pattern as it uses up the end of a skein after making an adult pair!
Pattern Details for These Textured Knit Baby Socks
These socks are knit from the cuff down, the way I like to design my socks. They are a super quick knit.
You can use any form of knitting in the round that you like, even though the instructions are for knitting with double pointed needles (Amanda loves to knit on 9″ circulars!).
