Design Story and Inspiration for this C2C Crochet Blanket

I love crocheting from corner to corner. The traditional C2C is fun, but I also love that there are so many other crochet stitch options to choose from!

I’ve done a C2C Moss Stitch Baby Blanket in blanket yarn, and it was so much fun and worked up super fast. I also released a quilt block-inspired pattern earlier this year in the traditional C2C crochet method.

Since the lemon peel stitch is one of my favorite crochet stitches, I decided it was time to design a C2C baby blanket with it!

Yarn Options for the C2C Lemon Peel Stitch

For this blanket design, I used some stash yarn that I had that is perfect for baby blankets. Lion Brand Feels Like Butta is a soft, washable, baby-safe yarn that is great to work with.

This is a worsted weight yarn (category #4), which is the most popular weight of yarn. I’m sure you have some worsted weight yarn in your stash somewhere, so grab that yarn and hook and get going! 😀

The Secret to Amazing Texture: Crochet This C2C Lemon Peel Blanket

Pattern Notes

The body of the blanket is created using the c2c lemon peel stitch, which makes the size of this blanket easily customizable.

The border begins with a round of single crochet, working ch 2 spaces to turn the corners, then the shell border is worked.  If you change the size of the blanket, ensure you have a multiple of 6 on each side of your blanket for the border to work properly.
