Design Story and Inspiration for this Crochet Face Scrubby Pattern

I love this stitch, it’s honestly one of my favorite stitches I’ve learned. The two row repeat is an easy to remember pattern, and the texture is absolutely amazing.

So I decided it would be the perfect stitch for a fun, easy project! I have made several different face scrubbies and use them all the time in my skincare routine. I don’t even bother treating them with any special care – they just go in the washer and dryer with the other clothes!

If you do machine wash and dry them, they will get a little smaller but they tighten up and work even better! That’s why I always try for around a 3.5-4″ face scrubby, because after washing it is the perfect size to clean your face with.

Yarn Options for Crochet Face Scrubbies

For this pattern I used Yarn Bee Sugarwheel Cotton which is a DK weight cotton yarn. It comes in multicolor cakes so I love to deconstruct them and have coordinating colors from one skein. ๐Ÿ˜€

You can use any cotton yarn you like. I do recommend cotton for face scrubbies, as it works really well for absorbing water. So feel free to bust that stash! Just keep in mind that if you use a worsted weight yarn then it will turn out a bit larger, but since it shrinks some in the wash it will be fine.
