What is the Best Yarn to Use for Knitting Slippers?
Most people knit slippers using a natural fiber yarn, such as wool (usually superwash merino wool) or alpaca, as you’ll see in our pattern collection. These are great choices because they stand up to wear and they are comfortable (unless you are allergic to wool, of course!).
You want to be careful choosing a wool that is hand wash only, because it might felt if not cared for properly. This might not be a problem if you are used to caring for wool items, but if you are gifting these slippers it might be best to use a superwash wool.
You can also choose to use a good quality cotton or even a premium acrylic yarn. There are so many good choices for slippers!
