If you’re the kind of person that’s already thinking about Christmas, then this post is for you! (and if anyone tells you that it’s too early, tell them that you really don’t need that kind of negativity in your life!) Decorating the tree is one of my favorite parts of Christmas, and no one gets to take that joy away from me!
Knitting your own ornaments is a great way to decorate your tree from top to bottom without shelling out a ton of cash. Plus, there are way more choices in the yarn aisle (or even in your yarn stash) than there are in the ornament aisle, so you have a lot more room for creativity. You can go crazy with the color scheme, or think outside the box for the theme.
The best part about these free Christmas knitting patterns is that they are all nice and quick projects. They don’t take up too much time and they don’t take up too much yarn, so you can make more than a few and deck out the whole tree!
As with all our free knitting pattern round-ups, we’ve made sure to include a wide range of skill levels. We have free ornament knitting patterns for beginners, for experienced knitters, and for everyone in between! But the variety doesn’t stop there. In addition to the more classic decoration ideas, there are plenty of more unique ideas for your best Christmas tree yet!
