Wow, it has gotten cold here quickly.  Tennessee has such strange weather and we usually go from hot to cold and kind of miss the nice weather in between.  We had a short spell of fall weather but most of October was in the upper 80’s and now they are talking about snow flurries soon!

I have been working on projects that can be given as gifts and this shawl works up so quickly you can easily make two or three before Christmas as gifts.  It’s a simple one row repeat consisting of double crochets and chains and this was my project that I took with me everywhere because it’s so simple I could put it down at any point and not wonder where I was when I picked it up again.  Seriously – I even worked on it when stuck in traffic. (Sitting still, of course!  I would never knit or crochet while driving!)

I’ve been so busy making for the kids that it was nice to make something different, although I’m still determined to make a sweater for each of my boys (and hubby!) before winter is over.  One is in the testing phase and I’m working away on the next so I’m on track to get them all done.  It will be busy, but good!  I’m also working on the teacher gifts and will be releasing some quick one and two skein gift ideas really soon.

Guys, let me tell you, I am seriously in love with this yarn and you will most definitely be seeing it again.  Red Heart does such a great job of making contemporary, lush yarns and this is the squishiest, softest yarn I’ve tried yet!!  I actually bought another skein on the way home today…. shh, don’t tell the hubs. 😉

Thanks for a beautiful yet simple pattern! Quick question. What size skeins did you use? The 5 oz. 132 yds or the 8 oz 212 yds? The video shows the pearl in 8 oz,, so I assume you used 2 full skeins of that same weight in indigo. Just checking.

      Hi Marie,

Great question!! I bought mine at JoAnn and there was only one size so I just assumed that’s all it came in. 🙂 Yes, these are the 8 oz skeins. I will change the pattern to reflect that. Thanks!

I seriously love the Hygge yarn too. I’ve been using it in blankets but I’ve pinned this pattern to try as well. That yarn is amazingly soft! I buy some every time I go to Walmart. Thanks for the pattern.
