Crochet a wonderful fall accent with this free pattern for an amigurumi crochet acorn!

Design Story and Inspiration for This Crochet Acorn Pattern
I love fall and everything that comes with it. I have patterns for things like Crochet Candy Corn and Crochet Pumpkins, but I wanted something new this year, so I started researching all things fall.
I decided a cute little acorn would be the perfect thing to make to decorate the house, and I really love how it turned out! I’ve made several of these and they are SO easy to make and use up scrap yarn!
Yarn Options for Amigurumi Acorns
I chose a cotton fingering weight yarn, Scheepjes Catona. I purchased a large package of all their colors from Amazon, and to be honest I haven’t used them much because there is a small amount of each color. Now I’m going to be crocheting small projects like these with my stash of Catona!
You can use any yarn you like, just be sure to adjust your hook size if you use a different yarn weight. Check the label on the ball band for a recommended hook size, and go down a size or two to make your stitches tighter. Of course, changing the weight of the yarn will affect how large your acorns are, but that’s okay!

Final Thoughts on Our Crochet Acorn Pattern
I hope you enjoy this fun little pattern. It was a blast to make and it’s so fun having these around as decor.
Happy Crocheting!
Amanda

You have two Round 2’s in the second section.
Thank you for this sweet acorn pattern. I will make these to fill a little basket I made.
So glad you like them!
Round 1 of the second section has omitted “ch 1”. It should read:
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as hdc, ch 1), skip next st, *hdc back loop only in next st, ch 1, skip next st; repeat from * around, join to 2nd ch of beg ch-3; turn (10 hdc)
Thanks! It’s changed in the pattern now.
when you change colour you would be better doing a round of sl-st first that way you get a clean edge around the cap part.
You can absolutely do that if you desire!
