Free Crochet Pattern - Baby Bear Booties

Whew!  Here we are with the final pattern for the Baby Bear Set!!  You can check out the hat pattern here and the mittens pattern here.

I hope you have enjoyed this set as much as I have enjoyed making it!  I really love that I got to see my little man modeling it before he grows too big.  These boys are growing way too fast.  Before I know it they will be teenagers (and then we will be broke feeding all four of them! Ha!) and then out on their own.  I’m treasuring every minute I can, even when I am beyond exhausted… well, at least trying to.  Let’s face it, parenting is hard.  But it’s so worth it. <3

What You’ll Need

Yarn: Lion Brand Heartland (100% Acrylic; 251 yards [230 meters]/142 grams): 125 Mammoth Cave, 1 skein

Hook: US size F/5 (4.0mm); US size I/9 (5.5mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle; stitch markers

Skill Level: Easy

Size: 0-3 (3-6) months, 3 (3 1/2)” sole length

Gauge: 20 sts and 24 rows = 4” [10 cm] in sc with smaller hook; 18 sts and 20 rows = 4” [10 cm] in sc with larger hook

Abbreviations:
Blo (back loop only): Work in the back loop of the stitches indicated.

Notes:
Rounds are not joined unless noted. Place stitch marker in first st of each round to keep track.  If only one number is given that number applies to both sizes.

Love this set . With the booties, when do I change to the larger hook? Is it on the body? Then , is the ribbing with the smaller hook again?

Oh wow, how has no one ever noticed this? Lots of people have made these, too! You start with the larger hook and only change to the smaller hook on the ribbing – I’ll update the pattern. 🙂 Thanks for catching it!
