Looking for a quick and easy crochet throw pattern? This pattern using super bulky yarn is cozy and warm and works up super quickly!
Design Story and Inspiration for the Easy Crochet Throw
I love a project that works up quickly and is easy enough that I can watch a show with my husband. I fell in love with this yarn and wanted to make a blanket with it – so I decided to combine all three!
This is made with a simple single crochet cluster, which is just using single crochet two together (sc2tog) with a chain space to keep an even number of stitches. It gives great texture and is mindless enough that you can watch tv while working it.
Yarn Options for the Easy Crochet Throw
I fell in love with this Yarn Bee Effortless Super Bulky in the colorway Misty Lake. I knew it would make an amazing blanket, so I set out to find a stitch pattern that would work well with it.
This yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% alpaca, so it has a very nice feel to it and was amazing to work with. I’d definitely recommend it if you happen to have a Hobby Lobby nearby (especially when they have 30% off yarn!).
If you have any super bulky yarn in your stash it would work well for this pattern, as gauge is not imperative when making a blanket.

How to Customize the Easy Crochet Throw Pattern
This simple stitch is a multiple of 2 sts plus 2, so you can chain any even number of stitches to get any size you want. Just follow the pattern instructions as stated below (except for the stitch counts) and you are good to go!
So if you do decide you’d like to make it in a lighter weight yarn you can still do so. Chain until is is near the desired width and make sure your chain is an even number. Then, follow the pattern instructions!

I watched most of the tutorial on a dog sweater, I really enjoyed it! But I can’t find the pattern and can’t remember everything you said and did. Can you please locate the pattern and where I can find the tutorial for it? It looked quick and easy to make! My little dog is cold when he has to go potty,
amanda
I’m sorry but I don’t have a dog sweater on the blog yet. We don’t have a dog to model for us. 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to share your patterns and projects. What I really wish would be included, and almost never is, is the weight and yardage information for the yarn being featured. I can’t use that yarn as I’m very allergic to wool so I would love to know without having to research that yarn, what I could substitute for it. So including the yarn weight (bulky, worsted, etc.) and the yardage, it would be really helpful.

@Gretchen, you can check on yarnsub.com. It’s pretty good for finding substitutions.
